Annie Pancak Vogt is a filmmaker whose work blends intimate storytelling with a reporter’s instinct for truth and nuance. Working between Brooklyn and San Francisco, she gravitates toward observational modes that examine community, identity, and the process of becoming.
Her latest short documentary, Summer Camp, follows her 14-year-old niece as she navigates shifting friendships and love triangles in the age of TikTok at a New England camp. Annie’s previous film, Conceiving Our Future, explored a young couple’s decision not to have children amidst the climate crisis; it screened at DOCNYC and the Ashland Independent Film Festival, among others. She also served as associate producer on the ITVS-supported feature Assembly, which premiered at SXSW.
Annie holds an MFA in Cinema from San Francisco State University and a BA in Journalism from the University of Connecticut. Earlier in her career, she was the senior video producer on the features team at Law360, where her work earned industry awards for interviewing and visual storytelling.
When she’s not making films, she's making pots and teaching wheel-throwing. Her pottery practice provides a centering complement to her filmmaking work.
